Hello world!

Hello all,

A note about the title of my blog.

Over the last year and a half I have the pleasure of three surgeries. Last year, spring time it was hernia surgery. I remember thinking well that was not too bad, out for a few months. I fell into the lazy ways of before I found you guys N gals.

So nicely plumped up over the winter to a slim # 255. My WW boat was at the same level as when it was fully loaded the year before, with just me in it. Not good. So we get to Easter this year, paddling more feeling good. Camped for the weekend. Went out for dinner Sat night, had the usual 8lbs of Mexican food that comes on the plate.

Got home Sunday and for some reason thought I was a garbage disposal. I ate and ate and ate, was I hungry? No chance. I mean a ridiculous amount of food. Why???????

To my suprise I ended up with stomache ache??? I got them every now and then, so nothing to worry about. This was a bad one, heating pad, rubbing my belly and finally soak in the tub. I thought the pain was bad till I was stepping out of the tub and I felt something rip inside, damn that hurt. I tried to man up and deal with it, I can sleep it off.

Not going to happen, this is bad. Off to the ER, after a MRI yes your colon has burst open. By the way you will be crapping into a bag for a while. Not to getĀ to graphic it sucks but better than being dead.

I have been very luck that it could be reversed, it is now two months after they took the Colostomy down. I am almost close to where I was before this all started. I really need a path to get me to a healthy lifestyle, here was the closest I have been to that in a very long time.

Clean eats will not be a problem for me because if I do anything slightly bad I am in pain for hours and hours. The hardest part will be getting the endurance up. I know your encoragement will help me on this path, thanks and best of luck. If I can say one thing, Fiber Fiber FiberĀ  make sure you get plenty in your diet.

Sorry this is long and grosse, first time i have wrote about it.

Dave

And I was feeling sorry for myself because of not being able to complete the last Challenge due to a Hernia. I only suffered 5 or so weeks not being able to exercise.

You are something else. Glad the Bag is not permanent - have a friend with a bag for her life.

Good luck on the Challenge - you are in the right place to make it happen.
